HAWKES BAY J.O. MEETING. SECOND DAY. {BY TELKGBAPH. — PHSSS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, 6th May. The autumn meeting ot the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club was a record succefcs. The sum of £10,007 passed through the totalisator, making a total of £19,693 for the two days, as compared with £18,005 last year, or an increase of ' £1688. As on the first day, fifteen bookmakers plied their calling, each at a fee of £20 10s. Madame Melba was ■ present during part of the clay as the guest of the club, and seemed to take great interest in the racing. The sixteen were sent away on fairly even terms. Mundic took the lead and looked all over a winner, but Tina Toa, who had been lying second, came with a fast run at the finish and won by a neck. Juvenile Handicap, of 120 soys ; for two-year-olds ; five furlongs. — Daybeam, 8.1, 1; Golden Water, 8.3, 2; Te Puia, 7.9, 3. Also started : Celaeno, Stourton, Bridge, Seraphic, Ambala, and Scot's Fusilier. Won by three lengths. Time, Imin 2 l-s=ec. Farewell Handicap, of 150 soys ; seven furlongs. — Bollin, 7.12. lj Chanteuse, 7.8, 2; Sunbonnet, 7.11, 3. Also .started : Gold Thiead, Vi, Wimmera, 'First Mate, Seatondale, Inez, Moscow, Chamois, and Sir Possible. Won by a length. Time, limn 20 l-ssec.
