GISBORNE, This Day. A man named John Watkin, who was committed yesterday to the Auckland Mental Hospital, jumped overboard from the steamer Traatea. The constable in attendance grabbed him by the leg as he jumped over the rail, but was unable to hold him. He dropped into the water and was not seen again.
