LETTER-CARRIERS' SOCIAL CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Wellington, Letter-Carriers' Social Club was held last evening, and was well attended. Mr. Johnston being in the chair. The committee's report, giving a resume of the carrying out of the annual dinner, picnic and sports, and social, was adopted. The balance-sheet showed' the receipts to be £73 7s, while there is a sum of £4 Os 4d to carry forward. Thanks of the club are due bo various tradespeople for kindness in forwarding donations towards the dinner, and also for presenting trophies to be competed for at the picnic. The election of officers resulted in Mr. J. Johnston, being re-elected chairman, Mr. R. K. Cov/iper secretary, 3\la\ C. M'Ewen treasurer, and the following' were elected aa a. committee: Messrs. Coffey, Stokes, Buck, Scott, Riddick, Lawrence, and Kitching. After business, a • social evening was held, and a pleasant time spent with songs and recitation. Mr. Neilson played the accompaniments.
