ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

ANNUAL MEETING OF DELEGATES. Quite thirty delegates, representing various clubs, attended the annual meeting of the Wellington Football Association held in Armit's Rooms last night. Mr. B. L. Salmon occupied the chair. In presenting the report and balancesheet, both of which have been outlined in The Post, Mr. Salmon commented upon the healthy state of affairs that obtained at present in connection with the game in Wellington. It was a significant fact that last year there were 20 teams of boys under 15 years of ago plajting under the auspices of the association. These lads, he remarked, may be considered the seniors of the future. This year there promised to be a still further increase in the number of lowergrade teams. Altogether, 50 teams entered for the various competitions last year. After further congratulatory remarks by delegates present, the report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr. S. R. Shannon moved to add after the words "annual meeting" in Rule 5 of the bylaws, "Such Management Committee shall not consist of any member who is directly interested in any club under the jurisdiction of the W.F.A." The proposal was objected to by Mr. Salmon, who stated that if the motion ! were agreed to. sevoral of the most prominent members of the past association, who were players, would be debarred from election. The motion, amended by Mr. Roberts, to apply only to active players, was carried. The appointment of officers was then proceeded with, and resulted as follows : :— Patron, Mr. C. H. Izard ; president, Mr. J. G. W. Aitken ; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Wilson, A. J. Abbott, C. P. Skerrett, K.C., E. Pyeeraith, F. G. Bolton, R. H. Davenport, T. Shields, H. N. M'Leod, F. J. Courtney, H. N. Holmes, J. J. Roberts, Hon. T. W. Hislop, H. M'Keowen, Major C. D. Mackintosh, Dr. Hassall j lion, secretary, Mr. A. Williams; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. M. Oilier; management committee, Messrs. B. L. Salmon, J. Paton, H. Waters, G. Adair, W. Auld, L. White, and J. Davidson; lion, auditors, Messrs. H. D. Vickery and A. G. Barnett; delegates to the N.Z. Football Association, Messrs. J. J. Roberts and A. Williamb. The Marist Brothers' Old Boys Club intimated that it intended entering a senior second division team and a junior first division team into the respective competitions. A new club in the Phoenix Club also applied for affiliation, advising its intention of either entering a first or second senior division team. The age limit of junior league second division players was fixed at 17 years on the Ist May, and junior third division to be under 15 on the same date. The allocation of the cup presented by Mr. Adair was left to the Management Committee. All existing rides re subscriptions and defaulters are to be deleted. In regard to rule 3 in connection with league contests, Mr. A. Williams moved to add after the words "Management Committee" — "That club secretaries shall, not later than the Wednesday following the playing of a match on the previous Saturday, send to the secretary of tho association the result of such match." On a show of hands this motion was thrown out, it being considered that the referee was the fit person to send in results. It was moved by Mr. B. L. Salmon, "That no member of any club shall be allowed to take part in any match or on any ground un^er the auspices of this association unless 1 his 'subscription shall have been paid to his club in each season.' On Mr. Roberta's amendment, it was decided that the words, "unless the club's subscription has been paid to the association on or before the Ist July" be added to the above motion. • Mr. Salmon proposed that the Management Committee give early consideration to representative matches, and that one of these be held on the 3rd June. This suggestion was agreed to. Intending members of the Swifts' Association Football Club are reminded in an advertisement elsewhere, that a practico is to bo held at Miramar tomorrow. V
