THE CONFERENCE AT AUCKLAND. [BY TELEGBAMI — PKESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Musicians' Conference, a motion to the effect that musical examinations in New Zealand conducted by the associated Boards and Trinity College, London, exercise an influence for good on teachers and scholars, was lost by a large majority. A motion was passed : " That steps be ; taken for tho preservation of Maori folk songs." * It was unanimously decided that the I conference affirms the desirableness of establishing a uniform musical pitch.
