THE CAPTURED VESSEL. EXCITEMENT IN THE REPUBLIC. DEFENSD7E MEASURES ADOPTED. By Telegraph. — Frees Association. — Copyr.jht. LONDON, 15th December. Great excitement has been caused in Venezuela by the action of the Dutch cruiser Zelderland in capturing a Venezuelan coastguard ship outside Puerto Cabello, and, after sending the crew ashore, taking the vessel to Willemstad, the capital of Curacoa, Dutch West Indies. As a result, some rioting has taken place. General Gomez, the Vice-President, denounced Holland's aggression, and ordered the Republic to be placed in a state of defence.
