NEW ZEALAND WEDDINGS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, 6th November. SHOREOCK— GODBY. Readers throughout New Zealand will be interested to read particulars of a wedding which took place at Holy Trinity Church, Eastbourne, on Saturday last, 31st October, for the bride v was Miss Ethel Hinemoa Godby, second daughter of Mr. Michael John Godby, of Timaru, New Zealand j the bridegroom was Mr. William Gordon Shoe | rock, youngest sqn of the late Mr. i Christopher Shorrock, J.P., of Darwen, and nephew of Mrs. Elworthy, of j Christchurch, New Zealand. | The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an Empire gown of soft cream satjn, embroidered by an aunt of the bridegroom ; she also wore the customary wreath of orange-blossom and tulle veil. There were four bridesmaids and one page. The elder young ladies were the Misses Godby and Joan Godby, who ! wore Empire dresses v of white ninon, >\ with white silk hats trimmed with goldcoloured flowers ; their bouquets were of chrysanthemums in two shades of gold. The twp little girls, the Misses Nancy and Joan Shorrock (nieces of the bridegroom), wore frocks of white muslin and white silk hats. Master Robert Godby, brother of the briHe, wore a white duck man-of-war costume. The , ceremony was performed by the Rev. G-. P. Bassett Kerry, vicar of the parish ; the best man was Mr. Joseph Shorrock, brother of the bridegroom. | At the conclusion of the service, Mr. and Mrs. Godby entertained about fifty guests at a reception at the Grand Hotel, those present including the following :— Mr. and Mrs. George Rhodes, Mrs. Willes, Mrs. Walter Perry, Mr. Charles Dalmain, Mr. Timaru Rhodes, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Moorhouse and Miss Moorhouse, Dr. Harper, and Mrs. Hall. A large number of presents were received, including several cheques. The bride and bridegroom have gone to Devonshire for their' honeymoon. Their future home is to be in Darwen, Lancashire. SOLA— GREGSON. Last Thursday, at the Church of St. Alban the Martyr, Westcliffe, the wedding took place of the Rev. Ernest I. Sola, the newly-appointed vicar of St. Andrew, Bulls, with St. Thomas's, Sandon, and Greatford, in the diocese <i Wellington, New Zealand. The bride was Miss Cicely Gregson, fourth daugh-' ter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Gregson, of Bampton House, Pembury-road, Westcliff. The service was choral, and the officiating clergy were the Venerable Archdeacon of Leicester (uncle and godfather of the Bride), the Rev. W. G. Barclay (stepbrother of the bridegroom), and the Rev. C. H. Rogers (vicar of the parish). The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of white satin, trimmed with silver thread and embroidery ; she wore the customary veil and orange-blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. There were three bridesmaids — the Misses Barbara and Winifred Gregson (sister of the bride), and Miss Ella Sola (sister of the bridegroom). They wore dresses of pink colienne, with brown •hats,' trimmed with shaded chrysanthemums, of which flowers their shower bouquets were composed. A reception was subsequently held at the residence of the bride's parents, after which the newly-married couple came up to London, where they are at present staying. The bride wore "a travelling costume of bi-own cloth, with brown picture hat and furs. For some time past the Rev. E. I. Sola had been curate at St. Alban's, Westcliff, but he. recently resigned that position to take charge of the living in Now Zealand. Mr. and Mrs. Sola have taken their passages by the new Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's steamer Tainui, which is to leave London on tho 13th inst., and ia duo to reach Wellington at the end if December. ,
