LATE SHIPPING.

THE LAIRA ARRIVES. The Laira, one of the Craig Line of sailers, of Auckland, arrived in port yesterday. She is a small barqne, and has come from Bdrthburg, South Australia, with a shipment of salt, amounting to 685 tons. Tlie passage from port to port was made in sixteen days. Strong westerly winds prevailed for the most part, the vessel coining through without mishap of any note. Farewell Spit was sighted on Vriday, and the Laira arrived off the H«ads at 8.3 o'clock yesterday morning. A pilot was signalled for, and subsequently she was towed to an anchorage in the -stream. PAPAROA AT HOBART. The New Zealand Shipping Company lias been advised that tlie Paparoa from London via Capetown, arrived at Hobart at 8 o'clock this morning. She will leave for Wellington to-morrow, and is due here on Saturday. THE SYDNEY BOAT. This week's inward bound Sydney steamer is the TJnion-Cmnpany's Manuka, and, according to advice, she left port at 10 p.m. on Saturday for Wellington' direct. She should ' arrive early on Wednesday afternoon. THE STAR OF SCOTLAND. Yesterday the Tyser liner Star of Scotland reached Auckland from New York and Australian ports. She discharges a quantity of cargo there, .and it is anticipated that she will continue her voyage to Wellington on Wednesday morning, arriving here on Friday.
