The team of Australian amateur Rugby footballers now touring Britain were defeated by Llanelly (Wales) yesterday by eight points to five. Llanelly secured a try five minutes after starting. Soon after Carroll (a New South Wales three-quarter;) ran three-quarters the length of the ground and scored a try for the "Wallabies," which was converted. Towards halftime Evans, an international forward, added a brilliant try, which was converted. The second iialf of the game was hotly contested. The result of the match aroused hn>mense enthusiasm amgng the ten thousand spectators. The "'Wallabies" have played seven games, of which six have been won and one lost. They have scored 105 points, and 22 have been recorded against them. The next match is set down to be played to-day (19th) against a Monmouth County team, and on the 24th a London fifteen will be met. THE LEAGUE TEAM. A DRAWN GAME. LONDON, 18th October. The Australian League team played a drawn game Avith Salford, each side securing three goals and one try. Messenger kicked a penalty goal and a goal from a mark early in the game, and Salford equalised. Vigorous, but unscientific, play followed. In the second half Devereux added a try, which was not converted, and Messenger kicked another goal. On the 21st the "Kangaroos" are billed to play Runcorn, and on the 24th -a Cumberland League thirteen.
