Middleaax put on 534 ior eight/ •wickets Notts, Tarranf s contribution beiing 144 (not out). Lancashire scored 506. against Leicester. A. M?/cshaJ- is an ex-Qaeensland :player. This is his second score of a cenfcoiy this sea son, the previous one being 108 for Suipiey against Middlesex. "His bowling; lias also been excellent. C. P. M'G&hey, the Essex player, has been pijominent in first-claes cricket for some y»ears. Last season he made some good scores, and this year has done notat all badly. Frartfc Tarrant, the ex-Victorian, has been -rcry busy from the jump, and to him fbll the honour of being the firstto scot-o 1000 runs and take 100 wickets this aaason.
