ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.

[BY TELEGRAPH. — FBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH. 19th August. At the Addington live stock market today there was a large entry of stock, and a good attendance. Store sheep met with a dull sale and at lower prices. Fat lambs sold well. Fat sheep were easier in consequence of the heavy yarding. Beef showed no change in values. Pigs met with a good sale. The store sheep pens were well filled. Hoggets formed the major portion of the entry. There was a weaker demand and a drop in prices, hoggets suffering to tho extent of Is and Is 3d per head, and wethers Is. ' Ewes sold better in proportion tc* the other classes, but prices for these also showed a decline. There was a small mixed entry of fat 'hoggets and lambs, and any good lots sold very woll. Young -lambs jnade 14s 6d to 20s 9d, hocrgets 12s to 16s 9d. The yarding of fat sheep was the largest, and for goneral quality the best, this winter. Extra prime wethers 25s 6d to 355, prime 19s 6d to 245, medium 17s to 19s, light and unfinished 15s to 16s 6d, prime merino wethers 14s 3d to 17s lid, lighter 10s to 14s, prime ewes 17s to 20s, medium 14s 6d to 16s 6d, aged and light 10s to 14s. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 308 head, and included a fair proportion of prirno beef. For ' anything good there was a satisfactory demand, and last weeks prices were well maintained. fj rune nf** made 24s to 28s - medium 21s od to 23s 6d, and cow and inferior 18s to 21s per 1001b. There was a moderate entry of storo cattle, a fair proportion of whicji consisted of useful sorts. There was an improved demand in consequence of the good prospects for feed. Fifteen ' to eighteen months cattle sold at 255, twoyear steers 47s 6d, two-year heifers 42s three-year steers £5 2s 6d to £5 15s three-year heifers £4 15s, dry cows 8s to £3 17s 6d. A lino of two and a half year heifers in good condition made £4 15s, and a line of steors of the same a"o \<-as passed at £4 ss. The dairy cows were a poor lot, and m m, Wlth a duil sal ? at 30s to £7 15s. There was a medium entry of pigs and under the competition of an outside buyer there was an advance in prices for fats. A line of 14 prime Berkshire baconers from the Canterbury Agricultural College made 56a to 725. Choppers brought up to £5 12s 6cl, baconers 48s to 55s (equal to 6d per lb), large porkers 40s to 465, smaller 32s to 33s (equal to od per lb), large stores 32s to 38s, medium 25s to 30s, weaners 16s to 21s
