OBITUARY.
CAPTAIN COLQUHOUN, D.S.b. By Telegraph. — Presi Association.— Copyright. SYDNEY, 18th August. Captain William Colquhoun, D.5.0., commander of the Queensland gunboat Gayundah, died suddenly from heart failure, after his vessel arrived here to participate in the welcome to ithe American fleet. Captain Colquhoun was well known in Australian naval circles. Captain William Jarvie Colquhoun was born in Dumbartonshire, Scotland, in 1859. He served with the Naval Brigade in South Africa in 1899-1900— and was present at Paardeburg — receiving the South African medal, five clasps, the D.5.0., and being mentioned twice in despatches. He was naval A.D.C. to the Governor-General of Australia. Jn 1904 Captain Colquhoun was special naval corroapondent for Tho Times in tho RoMO-Jaoaneee Wax.
