PREVENTION OF CRUELTY.
The fortnightly meeting of the Committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held in the Chaml/er of Commerce yesterday afternoon. The following were present : Mr. J. Uott (president), Mrs. Christie, Messrs. Richardson, Watson, Jameson, and Brown. The following donations were acknowledged with s thanks : — Messrs. Aitken, Wilson, and Co., £1 Is; F. Meadowcroft, Bell, Gully, and Myers, Skerretb and Wyllie, W. H. Morrah, 10s 6d each ; D. A. Abcrcfombie, Jonkins and Mack, Roberts, Ltd., Kitto and Graham, W. H. Millward, G. Winder, Baker Bros., Rev. J. R. Glasson, Dr. Collins, ss; T. A. Roberts, 3s; R. Johnson, W. Hendry, F. G. Bolton, J. Duncan, J. Hay, 2s 6d each ; Rev. Mr. M'Kfickle, and "B,"' 2s each. Inspector Seed reported a certain owner for working a horse while the animal was alleged to be unfit. It was decided to take proceedings.
