TELEGRAPH RATES.
THE LISBON CONFERENCE. REDUCTION PROPOSED. MOTION WITHDRAWN. < By Telegraph.— Preao Association.— Copyright. LISBON, sth June. Tho International Telegraph Conference at -Lisbon sanctioned a slight reduction in telegraphic charges between Great Britain and Europe. Great Britain proposed to reduce the terminal and transit rates on extra European telegrams to the level of European rates. Germany and Italy strongly opposed this, while the cable companies were also prepared ( ? unprepared) at present to make a corresponding reduction. The proposal was withdrawn.
