THE BLACKBALL LINE.
Hon. A. R. Guinness, in a telegram to the Minister for Public Works ('Hon. W. Hall-Jones) urged the speedy completion of the Blackball railway line in view of the approaching completion of the Paparoa Coal Company's connecting line. The Minister was asked to increase the number of men employed on the work, and it was suggested that the men -finishing off the Paparoa line should be employed to expedite the BlackballNgahere line, when they were disengaged. ,In reply, the Minister expressed his disappointment that the work in question was not already out of hand, a3 he saw no reason why the line should not be ready in time to meet the requirements of both coal companies so far as concerned the carrying of the mines' output. Mr. Guinness, in his acknowledgement, expressed the hope that work would be speedily finished.
