The lonic is expected to get away for London by Monday. Captain Carter this morning informed the Court of Enquiry that the ship would be working all day to-morrow, by permission of the Harbour Board. It was a matter of difficulty in getting sufficient vans to cart the meat away from No. 2 hold. Mr. W. G. Foster, managing director of the Wellington Meat Export Co., who is one of the assessors in the lonic fire I enquiry, expressed the opinion that it would be wonderful work if the ship got away by Monday, judging by what he had seen of the state of the cargo. The discharge of the cargo from No. 2 hold was continued right through la«t> > night without interruption, and at noon, to-day the labourers had got down to water level in the hold. , 1
