Aborigine was going easier 'than -Arc Light at the end of six furlongs in lmin 23 3-ssec. Scotty was too -good for Master Delaval at the end of a mile, run in lmin 53sec, Delegate -beating Montigo over the same journey in lmin 51 4-ssec. Leonator and Cer"tainty were together, with Pohutu beaten on, at the end of a similar task, accomplished in lmin 50sec. North Head alone went five furlongs in lmin 7 3-5 sec. Chantenae and Finery separately sprinted two furlongs, Woodhey was too good for Diamond Star over five furlongs in lmin lOsec, King Billy running a furlong further^ in lmin' 21 3-ssec, Dawn taking lmin 24sec for the same task, while Rauparaha easily beat Mahuta over the same distance in lmin 21 3-ssec. After breakfast, Starina finished better than Golden Eagle at the end of six furlongs, done in .lmin 27 3-ssec. Tamainupo and Lochbuhie were together at the end of four, furlongs run in 51 4-ssec, Te Aroha traversing a furlong further in lmin Bsec. Waihuka covered four furlongs in 53 4-ssec, Veronica beating Marangi over the same distance in 51 3-ssec. Omati and Lady Hune jumped seven hurdles, the former appearing to most advantage. - Silica and Loch Fine were sent a round of the steeplechase courser -,the latter falling at the sod wall. Irish, Moeraki, Kapakapa, and Good Faith did a similar task, the quartette fencing well. Te Eahni beat Swagsman, Philosopher, and Gipsy Queen once round the schooling hurdles.
