AMERICAN NAVAL AFFAIRS. FLOATING DRY DOCKS.
NAVAL STATION AT HAWAII. By Telegraph. — Pre*« Araonintion.— Ropyngnt. NEW YORK, 29th February. The Committee on Naval Affairs has recommended to tho Houso of Representatives tho construction of two steel floating dry docks, each one to be capable of accommodating a 2,000-ton battleship. One dock will be stationed on the Atlantic coast, and the other on tho Pacific sea-board. The committee also recommends the establishment of a naval station with a graving dock, at Pearl Harbour, Hawaii. The United States Goverment has three, dockyards at Brooklyn, twp at Norfolk, Virginia, one at Boston, Massachusetts, one at League Island, Pennsylvania, and one at Portsmouth.
