HON. R. M'NAB.
HIS WEST COAST TRIP. After a visit of two weeks to tho West Coast of tho South Island, tho Hon. R. M'Nab, Minister of Lands, returned to Wellington on Saturday. Speaking of his trip, the Minister saya that from Greymouth to Big Wnpganui there is nn area of country euitable for sottloment. ' The dairy factories are doing well. The farmers have not been greatly troubled with drought, and consequently tho grass is green and growing well. Ho "felt sure that when tho Midland railway was completed, land would bo readily taken up, and agriculture would receive a great stimulus on the const. The timber industry would also bo largely increasod by improved railway facilities. From Greymouth to Ucefton, the low-lying hills will, in his opinion, make pastoral country when the timber is cut and there is a good prospect., of set^Jeniei?t in tho future — especially in the southorn part of the coast*
