The Government has appointed a solcct committee to inquire regarding tho condition of tho hop industry. A meeting of Kentish growers -csolved that the time was ripe for tho Government to take action to protect English growers against unfair foreign competition. Some tprakcrs suggested a duty of 40s per cwt.
