At a meeting of tho City Council last night tho town clerk presented a report on the city's electrical udertaking. In the course of his report the clerk states that the revenue from Ist June to 31st Deo&mber. 1907, was £6257 7s 2d, or at the rato of £10,726 18s for tho year. The expenditure for tho sarno porlod was £9407 7s, plus £490 interest on overdraft, or at the rato of £16,^18 18s per annum. STATE COMPETITION URGED. DUNEDIN, This' Day. At a meeting of the Political Labour League last night, it Avas unanimously decided to endorse tho resolution forwarded by the Invcrcargill branch of the league condemning the action of the Union Co. in increasing passenger fares on tho plea, of increased coat of coal, and urging that tho time was opportune for State competition with the Huddart, Parker and Union S.S. Co. in order to protect the people.
