KARORI FLOWER SHOW.

The "Karon and Makara flower fhow, which ' was opened in the Karori Parochial Hall yesterday afternoon, in aid qf the funds of St. Mary's Church, was a success in every way,. The hall I was^ artistically decorated with the exhibits, and tho various colours of the flowers, combined with the greenery of pott plants, ferns, etc., presented an exceedingly pretty appearance. With exception of a few exhibits the whole of the plants shown weros. grown in the Karori and Makara districts, thus testifying to the suitability of the soil for garden activity. The Hon. C. Johnston, Bellevue Gardens, Messrs. Jackson and Tarr sent large exhibits to the chow. Mr. Tarr's plants showed carefu 1 attention and several of his exhibits, especially pansies, were of unusually large size. Besides the flowers a large number of entries were received in the cookery. Misses Cooper and Kemp, Mrs. Stowe and Mr. Jay acted as judges in the different departments. The prize list Is as follows; — CHILDREN'S COMPETITIONS.
