On the Exchange to-day the call produced onco moro a turnover of modrst dimensions. Business in the miscellaneous section was rectrioted to Loan and Mercantile at sh, and Taranaki Petroleum at tho same figure. The mining section was devoM of animation, but there are indications of more activity before long. Talisman Scrip had acceptance at £2 12s 9d ox dividend, and holders askod £2 33« for further parcels. Waihis hardened somewhat, evidently in sympathy with a renewed demand in Auckland for scrip, and £9 and £9 2s were tho respective q-iotations for buyer and seller locally. For Bank of New Zealand £9 12% 6d was offered, and Nationals were unchanged at £5 6s and 85 7s 6d respectively. Wellington Gas, cum rights, were offered at £19 15s, and buyers of Manawatu Rail? increased their bids to £2 4s.
