-a» OPERA HOUSE. On Saturday night the Opera Houeo r.gain held a largo audience, who were thoroughly mystiiicd by tho tricks and illusions of Carter tho Magician. In tho manipulation of cards, sleight of hand foals, and cabinet and beance work, Carter is a pas£ master. Much amusement as well as woudpr wa3 caused by the Astral Hand, which correctly answered a number of questions put to it 'by the audience. .Miss Abigail Price's thought-reading v.iv a feature of tho entei'tainmcnt. To-night and during tho week the performanco will bo repeated, with a change of programme. On Wednesday there will be a matinee for ladies only, when Miss' Price -will attempt tho apparently impossible feat of, answcrjng all the questions that may bo put to her by ladies. THE ROYAL PICTURF.S. The popularity of the. '-Royal Pictures" continues unabated, His Majesty's Theatre being tTowded on Saturday afternoon and evening. A ns>v programme was prevented, and among the mubt notables pictures were the- famous Ozu rapids at Kioto, Japan, a most beautiful series, full of life and colour. Among the comic tableaux wcro "3?ho Drunken Mattress" and tho "Magnetic- -Man." The drama- was presented in, tabloid form in the pictures illustrating "Carnival Night," in which love and jealousy and a duel were introduced. The toDogaiiniug pictures wero successful examples of cinematography. Tho Limerick competition in connection ■nith tho pictures is exciting much interest. Results of last week's Limeiick will be announced to-night. FULLERS' ENTERTAINERS. Saturday evening's programme at the Theatie Royal' was. a vaiicd and enteitaining one, ami attracted a largo audience. Particular features of an extended programmo wero thp Vantells, in venturesome gymnastic' feats on tlneo horizontal bars. Some, novel and exciting "throws" culminating in a, during double somersault of 13 (ect, from iho first bar over the seebnd, t,bc performer catching 'the- third bar in his descent. The quaint whimsicalities and stilt dancing, of Denis Carney have establiehed him once again in popular favour, and tho vocal items of Mr. A. L. Cropp and Miss Lilian Montgomery, who were both retailed, Mr. Will James's banjo selections, notably tho overture to the "Pect and Peasant," weio entertaining numbers well received, and Salmon r and Chester achieved further popularity with their medley of Irish songs and sayings. Tho .remainder of tho evening's amusement was made' up of attractions by Miss Brightie Smith, tho Banvards, the Franklins, tho BonetU and Williams duo, Miss Malvona Moore, and a series of biographical presentations depicting lealistically life in and about a South African mine. THE PULSFORD CONCERT. A farewell concert will be given at the Town Hall on Thms-Uay to Miss Lenoie PtilsfoTcl, a. Wellington vocalist. Miss Pulsford has been encouraged by her success at the Melbourne Conservatoire to study in London. This will be the last opportunity of hearing her for some time, and among the artists who will assist will be Mr. Alfred Hill, Mr. C. J. Hill, -Mr. H. Hunt, Miss Phoebe- Paison, and Miss J. Moloney. WONDERLAND. The attractions at Wonderland were well patronised on Saturday afternoon and evening. An inteie&ting progiammo was provided, and the varied side-shows weie iv full swing. The anniversary services of the Wellington Central Mifsion Sunday-school wero held yesterday in the Conceit Chamber of the Town Hall. Mr. il. L.
