Island Trunk Line, which the Government has said will be regarded as tho work of next importance after the North Island Trunk. The reports point conclusively to tho route through Cheviot and Kaikoura to Picton as being shortest and easiest. It. is thought that before the session the Government will have arrived at a definite decision.
