SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — In answer to your correspondent in to-night's Post, under the norn de plume "Brooklynite," re tbe holidays given at our school : the reason why the committee closed the school on Friday last, the day following the annual picnic could have been ascertained without any trouble by your correspondent from any member of the committee, and is no doubt the same which made tho Kilbirnie committee close its school today, after their picnic had beon held yesterday. The statement made that the school was closed on three occasions in December last is absolutely false. The school was not closed at all, either in December or any other time for the i purposes mentioned. The only holidays given were the regular ones allowed by the board. The statement could only be made by an individual who, for some reason, wishes to injure either the committee,- headmaster, " or school. Your correspondent also says that the school is given up to each and every person who chooses to come around with a novelty and benefits nobody but hiinself — another false "statement/ The reason was to make money for the improvement of the school grounds, and the committee will be pleased to let the school to "Brooklynite" on the same terms and conditions, and provided that the performance takes place after school hours, and is approved by the committee and headmaster as being suitable for the children J.o attend. In conclusion I bog to remind "Brooklynite" that the annual meeting of householders takes placo oiv the last Monday in April.— l aiti, etc. W. TEBBS. Hon. Sec. School Committee, Brooklyn, 20th February, 1903/
