The cruiser Pioneer, at pr«eent with the equadron, is expected to be in port at Wellington in April and May in connection with her dut'es as training-ship in New Zealand watcM. A NEW TUGBOAT FOR AUCKLAND. Twenty-three tenders have besn received by the Auckland Harbour Board for the construction of a strum tug. All the tenders, with one exception (that' of tW Palmer Engineering Company, Dunedin), are from Home firms (reports the New Zealand Herald), and in nearly every case a large number of alternative tenders (varying in amounts according to the different classes of boilers and machinery) are submitted.
