BOWLING.
A rink of male members of the Thorndon Bowling Club the Kelburne Club's green yesterday afternoon to play a friendly game with a rink of -ladies. On two previous occasions the Kelburne ladies have "taken down" Thorndo s teams both on their own and tho lattor's green, and the Thorndon representatives made up their minds to win at least one game out of the rubber. The ladies were, Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. Knowles^ Miss Williams, and Mrs. Munro (skip), and the men were, Freeman, Gamble, Reeves, and Collins (skip). .The game proved very enjoyable, especially to the Thornion players, who scored a fairly easy victory. A further trial of strength is to be arranged* for, and aa the ladies are gaining in skill and experience daily, a cloae finish is anticipated. On the Thorndon green yesterday afternoon the Citizens' Life badges wero won by Petrie and N. F. Barraurt, who defeated the holders, C. Brown and Gray, by 2o to 17.
