CRICKET. WELLINGTON CRICKET - ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association held last evening, Mr. C. A. Richardson ,in the chair, it was resolved that, if possible, a team should be pent to Napier to meet H'awkes Bay about th© 14th March. It was announced that the City Council had granted permission to tk© association to cka rga cixpence a-head. admission to, the Basin Reserve on tho occasion of tho senior championship, final. The selection of Mahoney, Cdbcroft, and 'Connolly to represent Wellington in the Rest of New Zealand team in. their match against Auckland on the- 21st February was confirmed. In case there should bo arranged another senior match on the datefc on which the .final of the championship was played : it wasj agreed that tho, game should take place on the Basin Reserve. A PROPOSED MATCH ABANDONED. A private "telegram 'from Christchurch states that 'the New Zealand Cricket Council ha& decided to abandon the proposed match .
