FEDERAL SENATE ELECTION. MR. VARDON LEADING.

In tho Senate election, Mr. Vardon (Liberal) is well- ahead of Mr. O'Loghlin (Labour), and is practically sure to win tho seat. Through ' alleged irregularities the Hon. Joseph Vardon's election for a Senate seat was voided and tho vacancy filled by the appointment by the Senate of Mr. O'Loghlin. Mr. Vardon took action with a view to having Mr. O'Loghlin's election upset, in order that the questior of representation might be decided by the people, and was successful.
