I [B? TELEGEAPn. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Supreme Court, Richard John i Strong, for assault with -criminal intent, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment with hard labour. Th6nms Morgan, for hoise 'stealing at Rotoiua, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, concurrent with his present sentence. DUNEDIN, This Day. Mr. Justice Williams, in opening the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court, referred to tho light calendar, there being only three cases, and none of a serious character. No bill was found in the case against David irConnochie, charged with sending a threatening letter, owing to Bnihns, the principal witness for the prosecution, failing to appear.
