[BT TEIiEGBAPn. — FBESS ASSOCIATION ] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The criminal session of the Supreme Court opened to-day before Mr. Justice Denniston. The calendar includes four cases for trial and five for sentence. The cases for trial include that of Hans Wilson, on a, charge of murdering his wife at Christchurch. In. charging the Grand Jury, his Honour said the calendar was gratifying, as indicating the comparatively trifling extent of serious crime. Benjamin O'Connell was brought up for sentence on a charge of assault with intent to iob, and was admitted to probation for twelve months, his Honour adding a severe caution, and ordering accused to abstain from liquor during the term of probation.
