RAILWAY RETURNS.
The railway revenue- up to tho period ~ ending 4th January amounted to £2,031,666, as compared with £1,818,923 for tho corresponding period of the previous year. Of tho former total, £926,361 was contributod by the. Korth Island and £11.105,305 by tho South Island. The toUl expenditure for the period was £1,458,465 — Xorth Island £635,489, South Ifland £522,976.- For'tha eoi responding period of last year the" dk« penditure was £1,316,690. <
