(Received February 6, 10.38 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. David Chard, a farmer at Terang, has been arrested, charged with attempting to have poison adminislcind to a baby. , A cable message received on Tuesday stated that the police at Tcrimg, a p/aco situated between Geelong and Warrnambool, were investigating a peculiar caso in which a young woman had received a letter inciting her to kill her child, as a preliminary to her marriage with a young man. Accompany ing tho letter was a package contain' itig strychnine, with full directions how to administer it.
