FRENCH VERSION OF THE TRAGEDY.
ROYAL PARTY RETURNING TO LISBON. SHOT ON THE LANDING-STAGE. (Received February 3, 8.30 a.m.) PARIS, 2nd February. The Figaro's Lisbon correspondent states that King Garlos and the Crown Prince were returning fron^ Villa Vicosa, where his Majesty had a residence. They crossed the Tagus to Lisbon. Carriages and Court officials awaited the party at the landing-stage near the Praca de Comercio. When the Royal party was about to enter a carriage, several individuals who were crouching a few paces away on the landing-stage, at a sign from one of them, drew revolvers concealed beneath their cloaks and opened a fusilade. The King and Prince were struck by several bullets, and felL Their assailant^ fled, and the soldiers forming the escort fired, killing three of them— some accounts say five. Ths Matin states that Prince Manuel will, be proclaimed King to-day.
