The commission that was appointed by the Government to enquire into the loss from Dublin Castle of the Crown jewels of the Order, of- St. Patrick, valued at £50,000, has submitted its report. It finds that Sir Arthur Vicars, Ulster King of Arms, did not' exercise vigilance and proper care in the custody of the jewels ; and that the details bhow, on the part of Sir A. Vicars, an extraordinary absence of the feeling of responsibility for the safety of the jewels. The commission expresses regret at his refusal to attend -the enquiry. The Earl of Pembroke's son-in-law, Mr. Wilkinson, has succeeded Sir A. Vicars as "Ulster King of Arms.
