In the House of Commons, the Speaker overruled Mr. R-sdmond's attempt to obtain a select committee to enquire into the circumstances of Mr. Ginnell's conviction. Mr. L. Giiinell, Nationalist member for North Wcstmcalh, was arrested and sentenced to a term of. imprisonment for inciting to cattle-driving. (Received January 31, 8.33 a.m.) LONDON, 30th January. Tho Speech stated that Britain and Russia had been able, notwithstanding tho disturbances and complication!) in Persia, to maintain a peaceful policy.
