[BT TELEGRAPn.— mESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 30th January, lur,- e r -p oUrso 1 of » report furnished to the City Council to-night, tho Works Committee stated that the council was paying its carters wages in excess of thoso laid down by the award of the Arbitration Court, and the Committee recommended that so long as tho City -Engineer was Efttifficd that tho drivers were doing good work no alteration should be made in the rate paid. The rerommendation, after come discussion, was adopted.
