The Rev. D. J. O'Sullivan, S.M.A., delivered an entertaining lecture on "Egypt and the Pyramids" to a large audience in the concert chamber of the Town Hall last evening. Ths^lecturcr, who was introduced by the Hon. It. A. Loughnan, explained tho nature of his mission and the work done in Egypt and Equatorial West Africa. The average length of life among the missionaries along tho Guinea Coast was only two and a quarter years. In spite of thi's tho work of tho missions had developed until there were now schools and churches scattered all over the country. The lectuwr then described Egypt and its river, with the monuments and ruins of six thousand years along its banks. Pictures were thrown on tho screen rei presenting charactei istic scenes in Cairo, on the Nile banks, among tho ancient temples of Luxor and Karnak, and the great pyramids. The mummies of some of the great Pharaohs wore also displayed in representation. Chief of these was Scsostris, whom tho lecturer described as tho Napoleon of Egypt. From Egypt a digression was made to Ireland, where familiar monuments and memories were depicted. Tho eloquence of the lecturer Avas much appreciated. "BREIVSTER'S MILLIONS." When first produced in Australia by Mr J. (!. Williamson at the Sydney Theatre Royal, "Browser's Millions" scored a .success, mnning ,for no less than eight weeks to large ' house.-).
