Yearly talary £700 minimum, £800 maximum The duties attached to tho position will be : — (1) To organise the forest system of v ictoria upon tho most suitable and scientific basis adapted to the requirements of the State. (2) To supervise and control the staff of officers connected with the forests. C 3) To vit,it and personally inspect the forests and to advise regarding the reanorcsling, planting, etc , of forests and formation of plantations, nurseries, etc (4) To carry on a system of training foresters. (5) The Conservator will, subject to "The Forests Act, 1907," be directly responsible 131 3 the Minister for the proper management of the forests,, plantations, nurseries, etc., and, subject to tho Public Sei\ic v Arcs, will have control of all foresters, ofliccre, and trainees and persons employed , m such fovebts, ntc. ! An acquaintance with the forests, tho geography, and the soils of Victoria is desirable, and consideration will be g' ven to training at British, Indian, or other Scho-ols of Forestry.
