A bulletin on "The Sheep Maggot," with a coloured plate of the fly: by Mr. J. A. Gilruth. M.R.C.V.S., F.8,5.E., Chief Government Veterinarian, has been issued by the Publications Division of the Department of Agriculture, and a copy is being sent to every sheep-owner in the Dominion. The pest has only within the last year or two been positively identified in New Zealand, but already its ravages in some localities are serious. The illustrated bulletin will enable farmers to identify the fly and check its spread, and direct them how to protect their flocks from attack. The plate is an excellent production, in five colours, executed by the Government Printing Office from sketches from a specimen reared at the Pathological Laboratory, from a maggot taken from 'a struck shi'jp. His eyes were red, his nose was blue, Ho couldn't speak, he'd j«<-t say "T'choo!" And everybody round they knew And pitied him, he had ilia "floo," At laet ho gasped "What shall I do?"
