A largp number of billiard enthusiasts J assembled at the E^chang.o billiard rooms last night to witness a match. 500 up, between two Australian exponent^ of the game, Mpssrs. Leffler and Pmith. Both, men, nfter they had settled down, played good all-round billiards, and tha gamp was interesting from tho start. Smith got a^aj- with a good lead, by the aid of a nicely-pkyed 64 break, the ' highest, of the evening, but Leffler, by steady play, soon caught him up, and later got a considerable distance ahead. Smith, however, whose losing hazards were greatly admired, v was not to be denied, and by consistent scoring, passed j his opponent and went away at a good | pace. So much so, in fact, that at one time the score stood — Smith 435, Leffler 346.
