O Ti; Till EDITOK. % Sir, — Have jufct read your report fruit hawkere, and feel that I must ray a word on their behalf A white man cannot rent a Fhop in the oity. The rents are too high. People are crying out against the Chinamen, not wiihout reason. Tho white man rosolved to do something toward getting rid of them Hence the hawkers,, who are now in some quarters qonsidpred a .nujEance. TVe can get good and cheap fruit from them, and feel that in tho interests, of our race wo will support them rather than the Chinese. they are relegated to hy-street.* where a mnn coming homo from his work at night will never scp them.
