POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY. Opera Company last night repeated its bright and characteristic "Isle of Bong Bong." Into this miisiical and spectacular trifle are, apparently, compressed costumes, names, and dignities from tho ends of the earth, to say nothing of the marvellous beast ot prey, in order to give variety to the ihow. It was successful as ever, and will run to the end of the week, there being a matinee' ns well as an evening performance on Saturday. MISSIONS TO SEAMEN. On Tuesday evening a bright E-ervice was held in the- Seamen's Church by Air. Moore. Afterwards the men of warsmen were entertained in the Institute, when an attractive, programme ¦was piovided. The following contributed items : Misses Cable (two), M'Farland, and Cunningham, Mrs. Hunter, .Messrs. Gardiner, Burgess, and Leedale. Last night his Worship tho ¦Mayor (Hon. T. W. Hislop) and -Mrs. Hislop ga\e an official concert m the Institute, which was packed to tho doors. During the evening competititions, based upon the temperance- question, wore hold and won by sailors in port. Tho musical part of the programme was in the hands of Miss M'lntyre', who was assisted by the following : — Misses M'lntyre, Easson, Runwell, and Johnson, Mrs. Mitchell, Rev. C. H. Robinson, Messrs. J. Carr, Smith, Gowdie, Hame-rton (H.M.S. Powerful), Parrett (Powerful), and Johnson. Mr. Hollow acted as accompanist. FULLER'S ENTERTAINERS. The programme of the Fuller Vaudevillo Company is decicedly pleasing this week. Mr. Calloway's whimsical ditties, the coin manipulations of Mr. Allan Shaw, comical sketches by Salmon and Chester, duets by Blanche Carelli and A. L. Cropp, "turns" by the Twin Lucas Sisters, and dances by Watts, and Lucas, with song's by ' Nellie Power and Bob Lloyd, aro the chief items on tho programme. "BREWSTER'S MILLIONS. The next attraction for Wellington playgoers will bo Mr. J C. Williamson's New Comedy Company, organised for tho purpose of presenting to Australasian playgoers the comedy "Brewster Millions." Tho new comedy will havo a powerful cast, mado up ns it is of the best elements of the Tittell Brune Company, headed by Mr. Thomas Kingston, and augmented by the engagement of Mrs. Robert Brough. Tho cast will also bo remarkable for the number of character sketches it contains, a fact entailing a careful casting and the engagement of strong people for the parts Besides the two stars, the company includes the following : — Mcs&rs. J. B. Atholwood, Gregan M'Mahon, Cyril Mackay, Roland Staveley, T. W. Lloyd, Vivian Edwards, Leonard Willcy, Charles R. Berkeley, Redge Carey, Misses Nellie Calvin, Helen Fergusson, Edith Lewis, and Mary Hungerford. The yacht scene in the third act is said to be a masterpiece of stage mechanism. The new comedy has b,een drawing largo houses in Dunedin, Christchurch, and Auckland. Box plans will be opened on Monday morning at; tho Dresden. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The kinematograph entertainment at His Majesty's Theatre still finds favour with the public. The original programme has been varied, and a further attraction is announced for Monday night in form of> a "Limerick competition." PERRY'S BIORAMA. , Mr. W, Perry with his combination of artists and the latest indention in kinematograph machines will commence a season at the "Opera- House on Monday evening. Mr. l J eiry states that be has just -imported"3o,ooo feet of Him, comprising tbejatest .artistic and educational pictures that are at present being exhibited in the dldor countries. The- light used in the projection of these pictures is said to be a 25,000 candle power electric ate generated by the up-to-date plant just installed at the Opera House. Tho programme includes music, singing,' and dancing also sensational feats performed by other members of tho company. The Wellington Ferry Company's trip to Day's Bay lust night proved to be a most enjoyable and successful one. The concert at the bay was opened, by an orchestral ' selection from iihe "Blue Moon," and the following vocal items were rendered :-- "The Trumpeter" and "My Life for Thee," by Mr. E. Parkes; "II Bacio," waltz song. Miss Sandford^ Tosti's "Good-bye," >Miss Hamilton; "Roses" and "Life is a Riddle," Mr, Ernesl Archer; "Only Once More," Mr. Herbert Wood. Tlie Duchess arrived back at the wharf at 10.30 p.m. Another concert will be held next Wednesday. ' . ! A Christchurch Press Association telegram states tlwt Madame Clara. Butt opened a season there last night in His Majesty's Theatre. The house was the largest, most profitable, and most enthusiastic yet set'ii thd'e. Double encores wore given nearly every number. Mr. Ivonnerley Rumford also scored a gieat success.
