The South African party has a majority of eight in the Legislative Council, and a majority of thirty is expected in the Assembly. A majority for the South African party was generally expected. In the ordinary course this would involve the downfall of the Jameson Government, but Ministerialists are hoping, that the re-entry of Mr. Schreiner into politics will divido the African party into two camps.
