At 9 a.m. the following forecast waa ieeued for the subsequent 24 hours:— Wind.— Noderate to strong from the southward at all places north of Ejefc Cape, Taupo, and Raglan, aud westerly thenoo to Napier, but strong westerly to gale elsewhere. Barometer. — Fall slowly northward of Napier and New Plymouth; rise everywhere- else, but falling again after 16 hours-. Sea. — Considerable on all western corfst, also on east coast between Castlepoint and Kaikoura ; moderate everywhere else. Tides. — Good on all western ooast ; moderate all other ports. Rain.— There are some indications for rain at places, southward of Nupier and New Ftymouth. Warning signal for westerly gale is exhibited nt Capes Campbell, Foulwind, Farewell Spit, and Nugget Point.
