HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.

TO-DAY'S MEETING. Tho trustees of tho Wellington Hospital met to-day. Present.— The Hon. C. .M. Luke „ (chairman), Messrs R. O. Kirk, G. Lundon, J. Danks, George Nash, W H Hales, A. C. Peaice, F. G. Bolton,. The chairman expressed appreciation of tho confidence repo=ed in him by his fellow members in again choosing him to preside over their meetings for another year. He said that he might find it necessary to bo absent from some of the meeting.), but in that case he was sure the trustees would extend to him the consideration they had always shnwn. .> UMBER OF PATIENTS. Returns submitted by the secretary showed that there are 111 males and 82 female patients in the institution— a total of 193. • On the same dato laet year 178 patients were receiving treatment. In the Victoria Hospital there are 37 patients and in. the Seddon Hospital 20 — a grand total- of 250 A total of 111 out-patients are receiving treatment. The financial statement showed a balance of £825 8a lid. THANKS. A vote of thanks was passed to tho Mayoress and her committee of lady and gentlemen helpers for their valued assistance in making the Hospital Saturday and Sunday collection a record, and also to the Wellington Bandsmen's Hospital Sunday Committee for their handsome contribution to the fund of the institution. (£470 wafc contributed). The assistant matron (Miss Berry) was granted a-n additional month's holiday leave. NURSES' SALARIES. In its report tho House Committees stated : _ "That tho now scale ' of nurses' salaries is not to bo retrospective, but to apply to new cases as engaged, the old engagmonts are to remain unaffected and each nurse as her three years of engagement expires shall be treated tw a nurse in her fourth year : under the new scale this arrangement shall apply as from tho first instant."
