Owing to the threatened eviction for non-payment of rent the Leitrim County Council has resolved to warn the Government that the landlords must be restrained in their dealings with tenants. If this is not done, it is pointed out, lives may be lost through resistance being offered to tho evictions. Sergeant Cleary and Constable ' Fitzroy, while 011 duty at Stimmerhill, in County Wicklow, were fired at during tho night-time.
