PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.
[8T TELEUEAPH. — PKK39 ASSOCIATION 3 • DUNEDIN, 9th January. ' The fifteenth Primitive Methodist Conference opened this afternoon, over one hundred delegates and visitors being present. The> Key. C. E. Ward occupied the chair. Officers -ft-ere appointed as follows 1:—.1 :—. President, Rev. Oliphant; vice-presi-dent, Mr. Rudd,; secretary, Key. Southern; assistants, Revs. Featherston and Woolloxall and Mr. 'Moor ; letters writers, Keys- .Baino- and .Liddle and Mr. Varney ; reporters, Revs. Drake, Mann and Cocker,; auditors, Messrs. Clement and Dohbs. Tho Rev. Flanagan, of England, received 'a hearty, welcome 'tc the Conference. . . Various committees were appointed. Ths president's address will b© delivered to-morrow. - In the evening the church was-<;rowd-©"l to hear a sermon by the Rev: Ji ■"■•anagan on "The Fruits of. Prayer" showing - that prayer is a revelation , of th-s unseen, a glorification of- the cornsttmnplare, and a transfiguration of the life. The sermon sustained the evan-c/-lis.t's great reputation, being a misterjy .deliverance.
