The amount of good , done by Thursday night's shower has been incalculable to the farming community, which has temporarily suspended haymaking. Harvesting commenced to-day on Tc Oreoro. At a meeting of the Masterton Swimming Club last night, it was decided to change the name of the club, to "Wairarapa Swimming Club," and to form a ladies' branch. The rules of the Thorndou Club were adopted, and it was decided to invite a polo team from Wellington to give a display ■at the Park Lake carnjval on Anniversary Day. v Plans for the erection of a Seddon Memorial Technical School are to be put in hand at once. Tho Opaki Rifle Club will send about fourteen men to tho Wanganui meeting on tho 26th and 27th instant. The club holds both shield and belt, and intends to make a strong bid to retain both.
